Duke and Illinois will meet at Madison Square Garden in 2025

Duke made sure the program’s 60th all-time game at the infamous Madison Square Garden was a big one. The Blue Devils will face Big Ten rival Illinois at MSG on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025 in an epic non-conference battle.

This matchup will air on FOX and feature two teams that made it to the Elite Eight last season. Duke has played at least one game at MSG in 11 of the last 12 seasons and 21 of the last 23. The Blue Devils have an impressive 41-18 record at Madison Square Garden, and coach Jon Scheyer has a 21-5 record in his time as a player, assistant coach and head coach.

Illinois won the Big Ten for the third time in the last four years last year, while reaching the Elite Eight and finishing sixth in the AP Poll.

For Duke, this is another excellent nonconference game. The Blue Devils are already playing Auburn, Kentucky, Kansas and Arizona as they prepare the schedule for a young roster (led by freshman Cooper Flagg) to win the ACC and make a deep run in March.
