Jason Kelce offers an unlikely scenario in which he would consider returning to the NFL

Don’t expect any kind of return from Jason Kelce.

The Philadelphia Eagles legend retired earlier this year after 13 seasons as the team’s center and building a Hall of Fame-worthy resume in the City of Brotherly Love.

Kelce had plenty more to give. He earned his third straight All-Pro honors, his sixth in seven years, and played in every game for the ninth consecutive season.

His injuries and long-term health issues were well documented in an Amazon Prime Video feature film during the 2022 season, but he decided to play another year.

He eventually decided to retire, but has been a constant presence at the team’s training site throughout the offseason.

Even though his skills remain top-notch, no one should expect a return.

“My playing days are over and I don’t see any scenario that would make me think about playing again, other than maybe medicine will come up with a way to get rid of my arthritis,” he recently told The Associated Press.

He also lost 20 pounds in the offseason and wants to lose another 15 to get to 260.

“They’re not going to call me back to play center at 260 pounds,” he joked.

He played in 193 career NFL games, the second-most in team history, and finished his career by making a franchise-record 156 consecutive starts.

Kelce won the 2018 Super Bowl with the Birds, four years before being defeated by his brother, Travis, and the Kansas City Chiefs in the big game.

Since retiring, he has signed on to be an analyst for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football,” while he and his brother continue to pursue lucrative deals for their “New Heights” podcast.
