Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton mocks lack of playing time at Olympics

With an Olympic basketball team full of superstars, some of them will be the ones left out: in the case of Team USA, those were Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Haliburton.

Tatum’s lack of playing time was quite surprising, considering it’s been less than two months since he won the NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics and signed the richest contract in NBA history.

Haliburton, not so much. On a team with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid, when rotations became limited late, Haliburton simply didn’t have a place on the court.

Haliburton was the butt of some jokes about his playing time during the Olympics, and he didn’t hesitate to rant about himself over the weekend.

After receiving her gold medal, Haliburton took a selfie with it and brought it to X to give her followers a laugh.

“When you do nothing on the group project and still get an A,” she wrote with a gold medal emoji.

The United States barely managed to hold on in the semifinals against Nikola Jokić and Serbia, and although things got tight in the gold medal game against host country France, Stephen Curry did Stephen Curry things to secure the United States a fourth consecutive gold medal.

Haliburton now turns his attention to the Indiana Pacers, who were defeated in the Eastern Conference finals by the Celtics.
