Becoming an Outdoorswoman Workshop in Arizona: September 6-8, 2024

It’s time to become an outdoorswoman!

Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) is the Arizona Wildlife Federation’s (AWF) award-winning program that helps women gain skills and confidence in the outdoors. BOW workshops provide a safe, supportive environment where women feel comfortable learning, making lifelong friends, and having fun in the outdoors. These workshops are led by AWF’s dedicated, professional BOW Coordinators with the help of numerous volunteers, including Arizona Game and Fish Department employees and a host of other experts in their fields. This year, Arizona BOW turns 30!

Registration is now open for the September Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) workshop and will be held September 6-8 in Prescott, Arizona. The workshop will be held at Friendly Pines Campground in Prescott, located high in the Bradshaw Mountains at 6,300 feet in elevation. Participants will stay in rustic cabins and enjoy the many amenities of this beautiful camp, which was established in 1943.

On a BOW weekend, there are four class sessions with 10 or more classes to choose from each session. Class options include archery, Arizona plant identification, rappelling, Dutch oven cooking, Arizona snakes and reptiles, gun safety and shooting, and much more! There is so much to enjoy on a BOW weekend—from expanding your knowledge of outdoor skills to sharing stories around the campfire to forging a new connection with nature.

The cost of the workshop is $435. This fee covers all classes, use of equipment, cabin accommodations, all meals, and additional speakers and activities. Don’t wait, our spots are filling up quickly!
