Packers-related emails reveal facts we didn’t know we needed

GREEN BAY – I get a lot of emails. Some of them try to tell us things about ourselves that we don’t know and find hard to believe.

For example, according to a study on which one report was based, between 5% and 12.5% of residents in three neighborhoods surrounding Lambeau Field primarily speak Polish at home. Jestem zaskoczona (I’m surprised).

My job description requires me to be more interested in those who deal with the Green Bay Packers, so here are the latest updates. They discuss the Packers’ popularity, Packers fans’ complaints about, among other things, tailgating, and, conversely, that Packers fans in general are a happy bunch. Among other things.

Many of these reports come from online gambling and betting sites, who make their living by crunching numbers, but who are also looking for some attention. So be it.

If you’re reading this online, I’ve provided links to available reports if you’d like to dig deeper.

Lambeau Field is the fourth safest stadium in the NFL, according to a report

If you’ve been to Lambeau Field for any event, the last thing you think about is crime, of any kind. But according to iGamingNuts, it’s only the fourth safest stadium in the NFL.

IGamingNuts said the ZIP code Lambeau is in reported 21.81 crimes per 1,000 residents per year, putting it behind Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with 9.36 per thousand, Highmark Stadium in Buffalo with 13.45, and MetLife in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with 16.38.

The research behind these conclusions comes from an organization called NeighborhoodScout, which collects crime and other data by ZIP code. NeighborhoodScout is also the source of the aforementioned data on Polish speakers in the vicinity of Lambeau Field.

However, it should be noted that according to a report by Sportsbook Review, Gillette and Highmark stadiums are among the top five where fans feel least safe, and MetLife Stadium is second on the list of places where fans say they have been victims of crime.

I guess that leaves Lambeau Field, with all its Polish-speaking neighbors, as the safest place in the NFL. Even for Bears fans. But we already knew that.

Is Soldier Field more popular than Lambeau Field on Instagram?

Here’s one spot where the Bears finally beat the Packers: Chicago’s Soldier Field gets more Instagram hashtags than Lambeau Field. No surprise there, but that’s what the report says.

Research of Bond Finder.com We looked at all 30 NFL stadiums and their total number of hashtags on Instagram (sum of the three most used hashtags) to find out which ones are the most popular on social media. Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers, ranked first when searching for hashtags #Levis Stadium, #levistadio and #49ers StadiumMetLife and Gillette stadiums came in second and third, while Soldier Field came in fourth and Lambeau Field came in fifth with hashtags #lamb field, #lamb field and #lambau field.

Because you’re dying to know, Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium came in last place.

The Packers are the fifth most sought-after team in other countries

FlashPicks says the Packers are the fifth most searched NFL team in the world, outside of the United States. Why does that bring to mind little-known sportscaster facts like “he leads the league in most touchdown passes by a quarterback who starts the fourth quarter down by 21 on the road and wears throwback uniforms”?

The report says the Dallas Cowboys are the top non-U.S. team, with 440,410 searches per month. The Packers have 284,190 searches. Among them are the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.

Based on the percentage of citizens searching for information about the Green Bay Packers, Burkina Faso is No. 1. If you’re thinking of heading there to meet other Packers fans, you should be aware that Burkina Faso is also high on the U.S. State Department’s list of places not to go. The evidence, so to speak, indicates that Lambeau Field is safer.

The least searched team in the world, outside of the United States and possibly also in Indiana, is the Indianapolis Colts, with 39,780 searches per month. The Packers will play the Colts in their home opener on Sept. 15 at noon at Lambeau Field.

Maybe Packers fans just have higher standards for tailgating.

A study by sports betting site OLBG.com reveals that Green Bay Packers fans are the most annoying when it comes to complaining about tailgating. The non-scientific study found that an analysis of online conversations found the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals to be the leaders in terms of fans wanting food and fun at online tailgating.

OLBG.com said it analyzed social listening data on 26 key online terms associated with tailgating and food at each NFL stadium to rank which fan bases are the most and least demanding when it comes to tailgating festivities. The data was ranked from least to most demanding, indicating who displayed the most positive and joyful conversations online when discussing food and tailgating.

The Packers finished last. Absolutely last. Until last, they couldn’t see second to last. Packers fans scored 2 out of 100 possible points. Seattle Seahawks fans, who ranked just above Packers fans with 24.3 points, were just grumpy by comparison.

Dallas fans scored 70.5 out of 100 possible points.

But otherwise Packers fans are very happy.

Three reports indicate that Packers fans are happy, or even happier than that, or damn, very happy.

Sports Geek used a social listening tool, which basically counted the most positive tweets, to determine that Packers fans were the eighth happiest group in the NFL during the offseason. Ahead of them were fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans.

On the other hand, casino.org used a national survey and a weighted index, evaluating factors such as optimism heading into the Super Bowl, satisfaction with management, mood swings when players get injured, irritation levels when their team loses and more to decide that Packers fans were the sixth happiest fans in the league. Ahead of the Packers were the Kansas City Chiefs, 49ers, Ravens, Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Carolina Panthers fans were the unhappiest, as you might imagine.

And Sportsbook Review used AI facial recognition technology to reveal NFL fans’ emotions from 20,000 fan selfies, with the result that 59% of Packers fan selfies showed joy. That put them in second place behind the Washington Commanders, whose on-field performance hardly compares to the Packers’, but when you consider that former owner Dan Snyder is no longer around to torment them, you can understand the smiles.

As far as Packers fans are concerned, Lambeau Field is considered in some quarters to be the best stadium in professional sports. It’s not the facilities, are Well, despite the metal benches, but the fans… It was about 80 degrees and humid when Family Night started on Saturday and, at that point, it was the happiest place on earth.

Nie jestem zaskoczony. I’m not surprised.
