A man convicted of murdering a jogger will be executed Wednesday in Huntsville

A man who killed a jogger in Houston 27 years ago is to be executed in Huntsville on Wednesday.

Arthur Lee Burton, 54, is to be executed by lethal injection at 6 p.m., pending last-minute appeals.

On July 27, 1997, Burton confronted Nancy Adleman, a 48-year-old jogger, and forced her into a nearby wooded area. He attempted to sexually assault her, but became aware of a female witness approaching during the attack. She screamed and he strangled her with her own shoelaces and fled on foot.

KPRC 2 investigative reporter Robert Arnold will witness the media at the execution at the Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville.
