Tuscarawas County offers a variety of Airbnb rental options – check them out

TUSCARAWAS COUNTY – From barns to farmhouses, and tiny homes to tents, no matter how you choose to stay here, there’s an Airbnb offering for you.

The Times-Reporter reviewed 242 listings as we imagined where you might rest your head while enjoying anything from the legendary water park in the town of Uhrichsville to the three-day Ohio Swiss Festival in Sugarcreek in September, which marks a natural conclusion to festival season.

While there is no specific trend in the listings we examined, you are likely to find a gem somewhere within the valley that fits your needs or those of your guests.

More expensive

For $550 a night, The Lodge at Paradise Lake will make you feel at peace in a gated, secluded community. Their accommodations invite families to stay in a quiet lakeside cabin, featuring three levels of living space with plenty of opportunities to connect with loved ones and nature. This cabin can accommodate up to 14 guests.

A two-night stay is required, so it will cost you $1,100 before taxes. If you decide to split it 14 ways between friends and family, it will be a great deal. Think team getaway, reunion, or even bachelor/ette party.

Middle range

For $250 a night you can book The Acacia, a 4-bedroom home that looks like something straight out of Architectural Digest. Located in Sugarcreek Township, picturesquely nestled among the rolling hills of scenic Amish Country, it’s quite the sight to behold if you’re looking for modernity and simplicity. The home is described as a luxurious A-frame retreat with a spacious modern wood structure and high ceilings, and designed for your comfort. Your getaway to The Acacia promises a harmonious blend of modern luxury and timeless tranquility.

It is also publicly listed under the trading name of WoodRidge Stays, where The Acacia is just a stone’s throw away from its equally unique sibling called The Adler.

According to the listing, The Acacia costs $411 per night before taxes.

It is located in Sugarcreek, a town known as “Ohio’s Little Switzerland,” which features a working train museum with 18 steam engines, a museum dedicated exclusively to Coleman camping products, and the world’s largest cuckoo clock.

If you enjoy golf, just 30 minutes west is one of the region’s most challenging courses for those forced to think about bogey golf, the Black Diamond Golf Course. Or just five minutes away is an arguably tamer course that is often played by the area’s high school students, the Black Gold Golf Club.

More affordable

Uhrichsville is a primitive tent campground. The price is fairly modest ($75 before taxes and fees) and is touted as a way to get away from it all while staying under the stars. One of these tents can sleep four guests and offers a bedroom with two beds and a bathroom. It also includes a fire pit and lake access.

If you use it as a stopping point during your travels, no matter which direction you choose, you will be able to find a great city, whether it is New Philadelphia, Coshocton, Cambridge or Wheeling.

As always, remember to check listings for final prices after any applicable fees imposed by the host, such as cleaning, as well as by Airbnb itself.

Happy journey.
