Harris to name VP candidate; Vance rallies in Philadelphia

Usha Vance, the wife of Trump’s running mate, described her husband’s “serious” motivations for joining Trump’s presidential campaign, which she said were “worth it.”

“I know why he’s doing this. I know who he cares about, the reasons he wants to make people’s lives better, and I know his motivations are serious,” she said in an interview taped on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends.” “They’re not this kind of goofball caricature that you see of him. And because of that, because I know that about him, I think it’s worth it.”

Asked why a Trump-Vance ticket is the best option for the country, she said her husband cares about people’s livelihoods and isn’t afraid to “shake things up.”

“It’s a question that has a lot of possible answers, right? There are a lot of really good things that I think we can do right now,” she said. “But I would like to point out again that I love my husband very much and what he really cares about is the people he grew up with.”

“There are a lot of people who just haven’t had the opportunity to wake up every day and know that their kids are going to have a better life than they had,” she added. “And I think JD isn’t afraid to push the boundaries and change things in a way that allows more people to wake up and say that.”
