Man in wheelchair dies after being hit by truck in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A pedestrian in a wheelchair died Monday night after being hit by a truck.

Colorado Springs police officers were called to South Nevada and Cheyenne Road, south of I-25, around 7 p.m. Monday for a crash between a truck and a pedestrian.

The wheelchair-bound man was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries, police said.

Police say the driver remained at the scene and the major crash team arrived to investigate the crash.

Police said all roads in the area should be reopened soon.
