McKenzie leads Illinois to first win in Italy

(WCIA) — The Illinois women’s basketball team’s European tour is off to a winning start.

The Illini defeated the Italian-Spanish Select Team 67-65 on Sunday in Florence.

Senior Adalia McKenzie led Illinois’ scoring effort with 11 points, followed by Genesis Bryant, Kendall Bostic and newcomer Berry Wallace with 10 points each.

Illinois will play Greek club Amilla Periseriou on Friday, August 9 in Athens, Greece.
