Jason Kelce wears beret for ESPN debut, says he’s ‘still on Paris time’ after attending 2024 Olympics

The retired NFL star was regularly spotted wearing the accessory during his stay in the French capital for the Summer Games.

Jason Kelce is bringing back his French style from the 2024 Paris Olympics!

While making his ESPN debut in NFL Countdown On Thursday, August 1, Kelce, 36, sported a beret like the one he was seen wearing on multiple occasions while attending the Summer Games.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center appeared on the panel alongside Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clarkand Marcus Spears before the 2024 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game between the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears.

“Welcome to the group, man! I wasn’t sure if you were going to wear a tie, I didn’t know you were going to rock the beret right off the plane (from) the Olympics…” Van Pelt told Kelce on the special edition of NFL Countdown on Thursday, according to a clip shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Kelce replied, “I’m still on Paris time so I thought I’d pick the Paris headpiece.”

“Also, what we found out, because it’s television and he’s become a different professional now, is that he also wears underwear…” Clark said, while Kelce joked, “Yeah, it’s new! It’s a grey suit… if I’m not wearing it, it’s risky!”, referencing his previous comments about not wearing underwear.

Kelce’s debut comes after he announced his retirement from the Eagles after 13 seasons in March. The following month it was reported that he would be taking his talents to ESPN for its Monday Night Football broadcasts.

While in Paris for the 2024 Olympics, Kelce and wife Kylie were spotted hanging out with the U.S. rugby team on Sunday, July 28, and the NFL star even beat Nicole Heavirland in an arm-wrestling challenge as he stopped by the team’s locker room after their game-winning match against Brazil.

However, both his wife and the athlete suggested that Kelce, who was once again sporting the beret, did not follow the rules. “I challenged Jason Kelce to arm wrestling,” Heavirland wrote in a video on Instagram, which featured his wife shouting “He’s gonna cheat!” in the background.

Heavirland jokingly captioned the clip: “@jason.kelce is he holding onto that table a bit? 🤣.”

“I tried to warn you!” Kylie commented as Kelce insisted, “Grabbing something with your free hand is completely within the rules of the International Armwrestling Federation.”

Kelce also chatted with Ilona Maher in a clip shared by the star player on TikTok, naming him the unofficial mascot of Team USA women’s rugby.
