Sauer reflects on Warren, then and now

WARREN, Ohio – When Diane Sauer became general manager in 1983 of what was then Martin Chevrolet in Warren, Packard Electric had about 9,000 employees, GM’s Lordstown plant made cars and trucks and the downtown area included three major banks.

“It’s a totally different world than today,” said Sauer, a retired dealer for Diane Sauer Chevrolet Inc.

She began working at Martin Chevrolet in 1975 as an office manager trainee, having recently graduated with a degree in accounting from Ohio State University.
