A pedestrian was seriously injured after an accident in eastern Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash on the east side of Colorado Springs.

Police said the incident happened Saturday morning around 8:20 a.m. near Tutt and North Carefree. They said officers discovered the pedestrian had been struck by a westbound vehicle.

They said the person was crossing N. Carefree “against a red light,” according to the police report. They were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they do not believe speed or intoxication were factors in the crash.
