An altercation ends with a man stabbed in downtown Toronto, police say

A man was seriously injured after being stabbed in downtown Toronto on Saturday night.

Toronto police received a call about a stabbing at John and Richmond streets, south of Queen Street West, at 6 p.m.

Police said the victim was stabbed during an altercation. He was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are searching for a suspect, described as a black man, between 20 and 30 years old, 6’8″ tall and of medium build, who was last seen wearing a black shirt.
