Is Jill Biden coming to Wilmington, North Carolina?

Wilmington will be a campaign stop next week for an event with First Lady Dr. Jill Biden.

According to a press release from the Biden-Harris campaign, the event will take place Monday afternoon at an unspecified location. More details will be released soon.

In addition to her role as first lady, Jill Biden is also a community college educator, military mother and best-selling author, according to the White House.

The Wilmington area has received a lot of attention this year for the upcoming 2024 election. Former President Donald Trump planned a rally in April that was postponed due to weather. And President Joe Biden spoke at the Wilmington Convention Center on May 2.

On Saturday, the campaign office confirmed that North Carolina has been important to President Biden’s reelection efforts after Trump won the state by 1.3 points in 2020. President Biden’s local appearance was one of four times he visited the state this year. And Vice President Kamala Harris has come for five campaign stops during the same period.

On Saturday, some Wilmington-area residents began receiving invitations to Monday’s event where first lady Biden will deliver campaign remarks.
