CHICAGO — West Coast fast-food chain Jack in the Box is returning to the Chicago area, according to the Chicago Tribune.

CEO Darin Harris spoke to the outlet and said the company plans to open stores in New Lenox, Naperville, Plainfield, Carol Stream, Tinley Park, Lake in the Hills, Countryside and a Chicago location near Midway.

The Tribune reported that they are scheduled to open next year and could extend into 2026. Jack in the Box said it also plans to open its own stores in the area.

Harris told the Tribune they hope to eventually open about 125 stores in the area.

Jack in the Box came to the Chicago area in the late 1960s and left in the 1980s.
